Pours amazingly clear. An inch of tan, frothy foam covers. Good retention. No lacing. Beautiful in the glass!

Aroma is toffee, caramel, and dark fruits: figs and raisins. Deep malts make it a pleasant on the nose. Aging adds complexity and interest.

Taste is dark fruit and toffee forward. It finishes with a spicy, alcoholic bite.

Medium mouthfeel with nary any carbonation. Almost thin. Dries the palate but not bone dry.

This is a solid barleywine. The age doesn't hurt it and actually makes raises the bar on complexity. Thin in the mouth. A good beer. Enjoy.
