From a can purchased at Iron & Glass Romeoville. No date on can but purchased in the last four months.
A vigorous pour brings on nary any dark tan foam. No retention due to lack of said foam. In spite of the lack of much foam, there is some lacing, but not much to talk about.
Aroma is straight up vanilla. Nothing else gets through here, especially on a cold pour.
Taste is big on vanilla to start. Mid-taste the beer adds roast, chocolate, deep, dark malt flavor: almost smoke and molasses.
Huge body. Light carbonation. Very sticky on the lips and inner cheeks. Almost an astringent finish.
This was only an 8 ounce can, so very expensive for the serving size. Lots of vanilla making me think much fresher and this would be completed one noted. Lots of residual sugars. Definitely a hint of alcohol in the finish. I would have it again but I am leery of the pricing: it is only a stout with vanilla. Enjoy!
