Pours with typical haze for the style. Big, white foam covers leaving webs behind as evidence as it recedes.
Aroma is white grapes up front. That wears off with the beer becoming more ripe mango and citrus. As it warms the aroma is becomes more white grape and overripe mango. The citrus is mellow.
Taste is sweet up front, giving way to white grape that shadows mango and citrus. There is a green or vegetal flavor in the finish that I may be more of a grapefruit bitterness that lingers; it morphs.
Medium body with a medium carbonation. Juicy until the pink grapefruit brings the bitterness in the finish. Interestingly, the bitterness comes and goes based on sip: some has more bitterness, some is just smooth, ripe fruit.
A bit too bitter for the style. I really like the notion of the single hop in a Hop Butcher beer as that doesn't happen too often as it really allows the single hop to come through. The white grape is gorgeous while the grapefruit and mango compliment nicely. I would have this again but there are other beers that definitely are more enticing in the Hop Butcher arsenal. Enjoy!
