Day 9 of 24 beers of Christmas 2021.

Pours clear but due to the darker color hard to see through it at the widest point of the snifter. Nice tan foam covers. Foam is quick to exit stage right leaving nary a trace behind.

Aroma doesn't carry the typical Belgian yeast associated with a Dubbel. No hints of dark fruits. I get the muddiness that I would call light chocolate. Some malt.

Taste is muddied like the aroma. Nothing really distinct. Some sweetness in the finish that fights with the hops, but the sweetness builds and dominates.

Light end of medium body, same for the carbonation. Maybe a bit thin.

This is a hard beer to figure out since it is introduced as a Belgian Dubbel. Well, damnit, I want Belgian Dubbel with fig syrup, per the can. Instead I get a beer that is unsure of itself, making me the same type of imbiber. I would not have this again. Enjoy!
