  • Purchased at Flight Bottle Shoppe on 2022-01-07. There is a date on the can but I cannot read it. I will preface this review with the face that I purchased this beer as I like the can art. No expectations.

Pours cloudy. Chill haze? Nice white head. Great retention with the foam frothy and becoming creamy. Thick lacing.

Aroma is off. Makes me wonder about date. This is malt forward with a huge hint of caramel sweetness (C40 or C60?). The aroma reminds me of a brewery after they pull the malt out of the mash - straight grain.

Taste has hints of hops but mainly in the finish that becomes a lingering and building bitterness. Somewhat sweet but the grain aroma doesn't come through in the flavor.

Medium body with a bit more carbonation. Dry. Touch of booze. Lingering bitterness.

I prefaced this tasting with the fact that I purchased for the art. Good thing. This is just a malty, high alcohol beer that doesn't have much character. I wouldn't have it again. At least I have a cool can! Enjoy!

Beer Notes
  • Sexy beer for the sexy man.

Brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops as sexy as Rico himself, this Double India Pale Ale has a strong, fruity flavor resembling that of fresh crush Sauvignon Blanc grapes, gooseberries, and passion fruit. Let it be known that Rico is out, for one thing, to be inside you!
