Poured clear into a pint glass with one finger of tan colored, small-bubbled foam. Foam quickly retreated to form a thin film on the top of the beer. Little lacing.
Aroma is sweet with roasted malt. Dark fruity esters similar raisins or prunes.
Roasted malt up front followed in the middle by syrupy sweetness, while finishing with those dark fruits but the fruits are mildly sour. Aftertaste is just a little sour.
Lots of carbonation and medium mouth feel. Almost too much carbonation for me.
The mixture of the big sweetness in the middle followed by a quick zap of sourness in the end surprised me and wasn't the most pleasant of surprises. Just an uncanny combination to me. Enjoy!
