Had while at Dark Lord Day 2010. Was a six ounce pour from tap free with your ticket (one per ticket).
Opaque with a little bit of brown foam that didn't stay around too long. Lacing wasn't there. Could have been because of the damn plastic cheapo cup. :)
Aroma is fantastic. The vanilla comes up to great you right away. Chocolate and some alcohol also tingle the nose hairs.
Taste is great stuff. The vanilla adds a nice layer of complexity that seems to also help lessen the effect of the malt sweetness on my palate.
Big body and ample carbonation. Creamy and thick but smooth like a babies bottom.
This beer blows regular Dark Lord away. I have had the original (2009 vintage) and I had a 2010 on tap at the same time I had the vanilla 2010 version: damn tasty stuff. Enjoy!
"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than selfish and worry about my liver.'" - Jack Handy
