  • Poured opaque and about as clear as I could tell. There was a inch of brown, creamy foam covering. Retention was fleeting but not running away. Some minor and blotchy lacing throughout.

Aroma tingles the nostrils. The oats are most prevalent and in a good way. Darker, roasted malts also are there with a bit of brown sugar. Possibly even hints of lactose.

Taste has a lingering big coffee/chocolate bitter flavor at the end that stays with you. Roasted malt with a splash of sweet are the backbone.

Medium body if not bigger with ample carbonation along with a creaminess that make it nice to drink.

I always look forward to beers from Portsmouth, this has been no exception. It delivered in a big way and I would try to get this if you have the means. An easy drinking stout that has just the right balance. Enjoy!
