Poured into my pint glass clear with a finger width of white foam. The foam faded quickly to a thin matte that actually provided a thin web of lacing. The aroma was of malt sweetness with some caramel and molasses (brown sugar) notes. Hidden in there is some nuttiness too. The flavor is up front with the sweet malt, which I like. There is also the traits of the nose: brown sugar, caramel, and nuttiness. It seems to come full circle and finish off with the sweet malt. Medium carbonation and a medium body. As I continued to drink the beer the sweet maltiness seemed to stay on my tongue and the back of my throat, sort of bothering. That flavor should not be lingering that long. The mention on their site that they make this as a session beer and it can be that. They succeeded in their quest: above average brown ale that is sessionable but not a "huge" brown ale. Enjoy!
