Poured into my English pint glass. If you don't hold it up to the light it is easy to call this beer brown. Had half-inch of off-white foam. Little retention or lacing.
Big coffee on the nose. Not mocha, latte or any of that other crap, just raw coffee. Smelling it reminds me of some stand-up by Dennis Leary about getting just a coffee at a "coffee" store. Put a smile on my face. I tried but I don't get anything else.
The flavor, once again, is full of coffee. There are some slight hints of malt and chocolate. But this is just a huge coffee bomb.
Light carbonation but a full feel in the mouth. I don't know if there is caffeine but I felt wide awake after drinking it. Maybe just the scent did it to me.
I am not a fan of coffee, at all. So this bias is probably playing a part on my overall rating. The beer is smooth and easy to drink, if you like coffee. The big aroma and taste of coffee is just too much for me. I would rate this much higher if I liked coffee and/or it wasn't so over the top.
