Poured from a 12 ounce bottle purchased earlier this year. No date.
Pours with beautiful tan head that is fleeting. Lacing was both sporadically think ad spotty. The color of the foam is top notch.
Aroma of whiskey, not bourbon. Hints of oak. Sweet, dark fruits, and toffee. Aged would really bring out the dark fruits.
Taste follows the nose. Whiskey mixing with toffee and dark fruits. There is sweetness that lies on the edges and builds.
Mouthfeel is on the thick end with medium to low carbonation. Easy to drink. No alcohol and low residual sweetness.
The whiskey is the star here as minor notes of the toffee and dark fruits. I think aging could do this beer nicely but the whiskey would drop some. Depends on what you like. A solid beer but no great. Enjoy!

Beer Notes
A long time coming. Barrel Aged Dominator takes our premium doppelbock recipe featuring layers of delicious Munich malt sweetness. This high gravity brew is lagered changing over time into a rich sweet base bock which stands on its own two legs and against the test of time. We continued to age this base in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels for over 8 months imparting the essence of bourbon oak char into every tantalizing sip. At 10.5% abv, this beer leaves the palate warm and friendly, but devoid of higher alcohol harshness maintaining the smooth and sweet base character of the doppelbock that maintains its smoothness through subsequent pours.
