The bottle is one-liter and blue glass with a flip lid. Nice presentation. Bottled in spring 2007.
Poured clear into my pint glass with a full tan, fluffy, big bubble foam. Good retention and nice lacing throughout.
Aroma has molasses, oak, vanilla, sweet malt, and bourbon. A nice blend for the sniffer that is enjoyable even while drinking.
Smoooooooooooooooth. Similar flavors as scents on the nose. Maybe a hint or two of chocolate. The alcohol does not really come through on the beer even served at cellar temperature: ~60 degrees.
Big body and deserving similar carbonation. Some creaminess blends to give an overall nice feel.
A really smooth beer that should be enjoyed at room temperature to allow the drinker to partake in the complexities of the brew. Anyone that enjoy bourbon oak barrel aged beers should seek this out. The damn blue bottle is cool to boot. Enjoy!
