  • Received as a gift from Sheri and Mike. Thank you!

Day 18 of 24 beers of Christmas 2021. Date on can of 2021-11-03.

Pours clear with a finger of off-white foam. Good retention, frothy and rocky. Thick sporadic lacing.

Aroma is mellow. Hints of pine, tropical fruit and some spice. Caramel sweetness. Herbal.

Taste reminiscent of old school India Pale Ale: caramel, hops and bitterness in the finish. Lots of pine that holds on into the finish assisting in the bitterness. Some fruit but not much. Herbal and spice but not much.

Medium body with ample carbonation. Lingering bitterness and dry.

The malt backbone is really the center of the this beer but the can promises that this beer will showcase the hops. Swing and a miss. If you are going to name the beer after a hop, then make that hop the stud of beer, don't add additional hops either. Damnit, think SMASH. I would not have this beer again. Enjoy!

Beer Notes
  • Brewed to showcase Solero hops, this IPA has it all. The beer is full of bright tropical mango and citrus flavors with apricot, peach and honeydew melon aromas. Showing its true colors, a subtle “darkness” reveals itself as the beer warms. The finish is fruity and dry with a soft bitterness.
