Wow. Surprised by the color as the pink in the beer comes out very quickly. Held it up to the sunlight to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. Had a finger-and-a-half, pink hued head, with good retention, and slight lacing. Average amount of carbonation.
Malty aroma, possibly a little beet scent gives the idea of some fruit. Very tough to pick up much on this one.
Medium mouth feel. That finishes sweet but possibly a little dry. The taste doesn't seem to carry the beets (maybe that's why they say it was only used for coloring) but that of the malts and some earthy hops.
An average beer that is light on scent, taste, and alcohol. Hot summer days could find this one going down easily but not a true American craft beer that you can really drink and enjoy for its' complexity.
