Pours clear with a nice big fluffy, white foam into my Lunar snifter glass. Retention is courageous while the lacing is nice and sticky with regularity.
Aroma is mostly herbal and earthy hops. There is some sweet citrus: orange in there too. Caramel malt is the backbone.
Let's start with the malt in the taste: bread flavors are strongest with a touch of sweet malt for balance. The hops are once again herbal, not quite as much earthy, but a stronger citrus and even pine presence come through. Bitterness on the end of citrus and earth.
A light bodied DIPA with ample carbonation. Surprisingly no coating of the teeth with hop resin.
Very drinkable and I really like the different hop profile to this beer. It is nice to see breweries not afraid to not grab hold of the band wagon and be their own leader. Enjoy!
