  • This is Killer Kapowski aged in oak bourbon barrels for 5 months.

On tap in a 12oz. snifter - served too cold, as usual on tap, so I let it sit for a good 20 minutes. A finger of frothy, brown foam with a fair amount of retention. Some very light blotchy lacing.

Aroma is big on the bourbon that this beer sat in. There is a big molasses sweetness, a nice hint of vanilla and oak, and some dark fruits come through: prune and raisin.

Taste starts with a blast of molasses sweet then flavors of bourbon, vanilla, and dark fruit intermingle throughout the rest of the taste. Alcohol has a presence on the way down. After taste has a slight "off" flavor that I couldn't place but didn't take too much away from the beer.

A big chewy beer that has a moderate amount of carbonation and a creamy body. Suites the beer well.

Bourbon flavor and aroma is top notch similar to other Flossmoor aged beers but isn't over whelming or too boozy. The after taste just leaves me a little bit off of an otherwise fantastic beer. Enjoy!
