Poured clear with a huge off-white foam. Good retention with the foam becoming frothy as it retreats. Sticky lacing starts when it recedes.
Aroma is surprisingly hoppy: pine, citrus, and floral. The floral hops take a backseat but still add to the complexity. Sweet caramel and bread malt balances.
Taste has bread and sweet malt that has pine, citrus, and floral hops on the opposite side.
Crisp and light end of medium body with mild carbonation. A bit of creaminess.
If this is to style then I never knew Dopplebock was so hoppy. ;) A good easy drinking for the abv type of beers. The hops add a layer of twists that was good. Enjoy!
Quicky: Nice citrus&floral hop mixed with sweet malt. To be honest the first taste is a surprise. More dry and less sweet that the aroma led me to believe. And a very creamy rich mouth feel. It's got the alcohol of a "double" bock, but less personality or deep than I expect from the style. Nothings wrong, maybe it's a style I've yet to fully appreciate or understand.
